NORMA'S MUSIC CATALOGUE - up to 2018-2019

Looking back on over forty plus- years of highlights-with horses-competing-breeding- with many songs dedicated to her equine mates! Rode her Palomino stallion in the Melbourne Royal Show Parade-up Swanston Street-Melbourne!  Singing the National Anthem on horseback at Warwick! and Mt Isa Rodeo- having sung National Anthem at National Finals on several occasions- Competing in the Celebrity Cutting in Tamworth- in 1993-as current Female Vocalist of the year. Also rode in the Rodeo Cavalcade in Warwick many years ago! I attended Warwick Rodeo also going back over twenty years or so! Competed in it -wrote about it- now I live here-so proud of our wonderful Rose & Rodeo city!  Solid Gold the album -looks at the Hall of Fame which links the three events- Country Music- Cutting and Rodeo. My own version of Paddy William- - recorded originally by Slim & won us both a Gold Guitar. Tributes to two of Australia's best sires - Acres Destiny- Texas to Tamworth- and Solid Gold a love song to my beautiful Stallion Roc Again, by Roc O'Lena. Bundarra Dust- my very first Campdraft-and one of my favorite Bush towns- and a special tribute to our Cowgirls-who always add so much glamour to any Rodeo! (I'm a Cowgirl).  our Drovers- (Gone Drovin') both the pioneers & the modern day Drovers -still out on the stock routes.  and our Lady Roughriders! Violet Skuthorpe- Kitty Gill and Gwen Winter. This album has been described as (a musical masterpiece) and I won't argue with that- a must for anybody who has ever owned or loved a horse! this is a collectors item -that includes a magnificent booklet & photographs- by June Underwood an Internationally acclaimed photographer!

Whiskey Gully Road- released in 2010

This was Norma's first release since 2000 with the Live in Bundaberg album. Norma performed with UKs top Country band (Colorado) in the big Peel street Concerts that year. Bringing the music back to the people -with free shows twice a day during the main weekend of Tamworth Festival. We find people still talk about those concerts- what a shame the Council would not allow us to continue ! This was when Norma took a ten year break! from her music- moving to Qld -Bony Mountain- and after such a long absence returned with this delightful collection. All originals - so many significant songs here- Norma's personal tribute to Chad Morgan- The Shiek- a song inspired by Victor Harbor- a real tourist attraction with Penguins- horse drawn train- the beautiful Sarah Jane- dedicated to an old Scottish friend!   Rose Coloured Glasses-and many more ! Whiskey Gully Road was very well recieved in the UK & Ireland and got a lot of airplay !

THE BEST OF ME -released 2011

After a ten year break - upon Norma's return to the scene in 2010- with the release of Whiskey Gully Road-  Radio Stations around Australia were finding no Norma O'Hara Murphy albums in their music Libraries! They were gone- or missing-? So Norma released this compilation of all her big hits-favourites-and classics-on the Best Of Me Album. Which gave Radio Presenters a good selection to play ! Containing the classic- Warwick Gold Cup- The Old FJ- Murray River Blues- Old School Bus-  Two Gold Guitar winning songs Tamworth (the song) and How THe Firequeen Crossed the Swamp. Several songs that were finalists- including Barbwire & Bamboo- Fresh Horses- plus the iconic Sydney or the Bush! A brilliant collection of real fair dinkum Australian songs from this talented Songwriter.

THE CELTIC COLLECTION -released volume one -2012

The first CD from this collection was first released in 2012 and saw Norma a finalist in the Australian Celtic Awards in Glen Innes. The following (volume two) released in 2013- won Norma the most prestigous Award- Australian Celtic Artist of the year in 2014. It features two wonderful old classics - Forever & Ever and The Water is Wide. But also some exciting new tracks- Gilbert O'Meally & Hall- The Legend of Barney Duffy- Ring Around the Barley OH! Colonial Ladies- Thunderbolt- Norma's own personal favourite- Glenrowan- the haunting Van Diemens Land- inspired after a visit to Port Arthur in Tasmania!   and many more timeless songs from the Norma O'Hara Murphy pen. This collection is I believe an insight into the real heart of this Songwriter- an Irish heart which still beats to the drum of another time and another place! but also with a passion for this country & its pioneers .



CELTIC COLLECTION - volume two released 2013

This magic collection of songs won Norma -Australian Celtic Artist of the year in 2014. And this theme continues with (volume three) due for release 2018. The first single has been released on MP3 only- Norma's version of the old traditional song-Galway Bay. This song dates way back in Irish History & was a song Norma heard sung & played much throughout her childhood! It still stirs the heart strings & reminds a lot of us of where we really came from! 

The Celtic Connection- (volume three) due for release at Bony Mountain Festival in September 2019. And what a collection it will be- all originals-except for two absolute classics- Galway Bay & Loch Lomond- this to be released before Xmas-and will feature on the album. Being recorded at Pixie Land Studios-Tamworth- featuring Pixie-fiddle/bass fiddle/Bodrahn/-Garry Steele on Accordion/Keyboard. The classic (Old FJ) this was recorded in Sydney featured on the year 1995 release - Sweet Rain- Landline did a wonderful video clip- filmed at Laidley. Also included on Best Of Me. released in 2010. I toured to China- Japan and the UK with this album! and it poured rain at the official launch in Uralla- when I was recording it in Sydney- and in China- also the UK- we made it rain- right across the globe!  for so much of the tour as well! it this album has always been my magic rain maker! More recently we brought the rain to - Carcoar- Dubbo- Cuttabri- and Kandos! no kidding! the song really works! Very proud of this beautiful collection- Co Produced with Rod McCormack-featuring some wonderful musicians- my Melbourne Cup song! a must for any collector.

LIVE IN BUNDABERG -released in 2000

Norma's only (live album) and a brilliant album. A testimony to the local Bundaberg Musician/Piano man- Ross Andersen. Ross pulled it all together beautifully-with his Band-including Sibi Morano-featuring on slide Guitar/Electric- backing vocals. It was recorded and filmed over two shows- at Brothers Club in Bundaberg- and with a limited budget is an outstanding DVD & CD. collection. Featuring the tribute to Slim Dusty- Travelin Man- the popular- Fresh Horses- a look at Ben Hall the Bushranger! plus some more real classics!
